About Glutathione
Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide made from glutamate, cysteine, and glycine, synthesized in nearly every cell in the body. It plays a central role in neutralizing free radicals, supporting liver detoxification pathways, and maintaining immune cell function.
What the research shows
Human RCT evidence for glutathione is more developed than for many peptides in this category. A 6-month randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 54 healthy adults found oral glutathione supplementation increased blood glutathione stores by 30-35% in plasma and red blood cells. A separate randomized trial in elderly type 2 diabetic patients found 6 months of glutathione supplementation reduced oxidative DNA damage markers and helped stabilize HbA1c. It's worth noting most controlled trial data uses oral glutathione; injectable/IV administration — the form offered here — has a longer history of clinical and cosmetic use but fewer dedicated controlled trials isolating the injectable route specifically.
